Important: Please inform your therapist of any health problems or medications you are taking prior to your treatment.
As you step through the door into our office, you will be greeted warmly and welcomed into a comfortable lobby. Since this is your first visit with us, we will want to learn a bit more about how we can provide the most effective treatment for you.
You will be asked to complete a short confidential intake form, which provides our therapists with some of your general health information. This form is also helpful in determining which type of treatment(s) you need.
Most likely, you were matched with a therapist when you booked your appointment; but if not, each of our therapists are highly trained to address each of your wellness needs.
From the lobby, your therapist will escort you to a private office or physical therapy room. Since there are other therapists and specialists treating other patients, we ask that all conversations be kept at a low-tone.
Our therapy rooms have an up-scale professional feel with soft soothing music playing in the background, helping you to relax. Your therapist will then leave you to undress to your desired level of comfort and relax onto the table (should your treatment involve massage or manual therapy).
There will be fresh towels and sheets provided on the table. You will remain properly draped (should your treatments warrant you to be disrobed) during the entire session to keep you warm and comfortable.
Often, a light lotion or oil will be applied to allow your muscles to be massaged without causing excessive friction to the skin.
When your treatment is complete, your therapist will leave the room and allow you some time to get dressed. Your therapist will then provide you with water and make a professional recommendation for your return visit.
After your treatment, you will feel relaxed and you may feel relief from your former long-term aches and pains. For the first 24 hours after a deep tissue massage or maual therapy, you may feel a little sore or achy - this is a normal response due to toxins being released from your soft tissue. We recommend that you drink plenty of water following any physical rehab treatment. After that time, you will feel increased energy, heightened awareness and greater productivity.
